An unintentional sin is subject to general biblical rules of God. It must be confessed, pacified by blood and thereafter by restoration to God through Christ Jesus our blessed Lord. When we fail to distinguish evil from good in spite of knowledge of scripture and without confessing unintentional sin, we shall have no part in God but shall be cut off.
Keeping (unintentional) sin
For those who refuse to confess and atone for unintentional sin, Numbers 15: 30 says but the person who does anything with high hand, whether he is native or sojourner, reviles the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people. The cut off is explained in Numbers 15: 31 which says because he has despised the word of the Lord, and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off, his iniquity shall be upon him. We face the cut-off from God if we deny or fail to confess.
Isaiah 5: 20 says woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! This is a clear warning from God to those of us who justify wrongs. Isaiah 13: 11 says I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, and lay low the haughtiness of the ruthless. Isaiah 29: 20 says for the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off, who by word make a man out to be an offender, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in the right. These apply to all manner of sin before God.
Jesus said in John 15:6 whoever does not abide in me shall be cut off and thrown into hell fire. There is always an opportunity to acquire that knowledge and understanding of God’s laws. We reiterate what the prophet Hosea said in Hosea 4:6 that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. It is our divine duty to seek scriptural knowledge about God and his divine principles, love and mercy through Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord. Are we doing what scripture says as the world would close so soon?
Christ is our advocate
Without confessing, we become enemies of God and thereby miss our peace in God. Luke 1:79 says, Christ came to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace. Jesus said in John 14:27 my peace I leave you; not as the world gives.
We turn to Christ Jesus in our sin for forgiveness because he is able to intercede for us before God the Father in heaven. Romans 8: 33-34 say who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us?
Jesus is also our effective advocate before God. 1 John 2: 1 says my children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. There is no other advocate for us before God aside Christ Jesus.
Christ Jesus is our judge
We also turn to Christ Jesus because he will be our final judge. John 5: 22 says the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him. If we refuse scripture the word of God which is Christ in God will be our judge. John 12: 48 says he who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.
Acts 17: 30-31 says the times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all men everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all men by raising him from the dead. Romans 2: 16 says on that day God will judge the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. Are we ready to face Christ the righteous judge on the final judgment day without confessing? We must stand in the gap for our dear ones and the world in prayer of confession and intercession and Christ Jesus will accept.
On the day of judgment
The day of the Lord will soon dawn upon us. We must begin to examine ourselves if we have done the needful to confess all manner of sins, known or unknown, intentional or unintentional to Chris Jesus to placate with his blood which God has ordained for our redemption? Romans 2: 5 says by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. 2 Peter 3: 7 also says by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist have been stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
We must confess in truth, in humility and in faith before the Lord Jesus for all our sins including intentional and unintentional sins. Because of unintentional sin which remains a sin until confessed and forgiven by God through Christ Jesus, we cannot claim we have no sin. 1 John 1:8-9 says if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us but if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Jesus said this about the day of judgment in Luke 13: 28 there you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you thrust out. Jesus said in a parable in Matthew 22: 13 then the king said to the attendants, bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. The Lord Jesus is calling us away from hell fire where weeping and gnashing of teeth will happen. Let us REPENT AND CONFESS! There is no distinction between intentional and unintentional sin except confessed and forgiven by God.
Prayer
Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, however we deny our sins, we cannot hide it from you. We cannot acquit ourselves without your blood. We return to you as sinners ready to be washed in your blood and to be baptized in your Holy Spirit. Give us a new heart which is ready to accept your word with understanding and wisdom. Lead us by your grace in your blessed holy name, Amen!!
